Personality Profile

Marcus is not a violent man, but then neither is he afraid to use it if necessary but he knows that it is not really his forte and is content to leave that field to others. He will always try and talk his way out of trouble if at all possible or escape if there is no other way out. When all said and done he is in the game to make money and get a slice of the good life and has no qualms about breaking the law but draws the line at needless murder or slavery etc.

Brief Personal History

Marcus Cunningham came from an average working corporate family, his parents are still alive in New York and doing well. He is well educated and felt the need to fly from an early age, it was no surprise when he decided to pursue a career as a pilot. Soon he was running commercial flights for a corporation, unfortunately within the year he became embroiled in a corporate war in Africa, his cargoes were becoming more illegal but the pay was good and greed got the better of him. then he was shot down and spent 9 months under interrogation coming close to death , he was overjoyed when corporate mercenaries rescued him but the bubble burst when he discovered they only came for the downed planes coordinates (the cargo was more precious than he realised).
He outwitted the mercs and recovered the cargo for himself, fleeing Africa for Night City to start a smuggling operation. The riots in the city had left many niches for a smart operator and he intended to become one. Things went well for a couple of years but then the Triads began to muscle in on his operation and he barely survived the takeover bid. Big business was out of the question now so he had to set his sights on a low level operation with some serious protection; so he linked up with some newbies forming a team batering his skills and contacts for protection and mutual benefit.

Current Events

Several times recently Marcus has come to close to the action bringing back memories of the war in Africa which has led him to try and take more of a back seat role in operations. This attitude has unfortunately led to recriminations from the team members about him not pulling his weight and running on the sidelines. The latest operation nearly ended in team conflict on the first day of a close protection duty over a 'take away'! Can the team stay together, who knows. More recently Marcus has been more helpful and somewhat less beligerent toward the team in general (perhaps his transformation into an evolved 'Scanner' has allowed him insights into others souls).
