W00t...
1247 Sept. 10
New Armored Core on the horizon!!
How 'bout that?

It turns out that Madeleine now works at the T-Mobile kiosk in the mall where I work. Anyone with a lick
of sense would think this a sign from the gods, but not me. I didn't stop to speak with her. I saw her, choked
on the powerade I was drinking, and kept on walking. Why? I guess because I'm actually intimidated by her.
That's only happened one other time, with one other girl, way back in the day. I really thought I would've
grown out of it by now. Guess not, though.
Meh. Its like Beck said "Soy un perdedor..."
This is much better...

I've gotten the character pic for the male character of my RPG finalized. I think its a lot better than
the previous version, with
a beefier, more heroic looking character. It comes in two flavors: justice,
and revenge. If I have the time,
I'll go back and add one or two alternate costumes, but that looks really unlikely.
As for that second character,
I've decided to hold off on her until the second chapter of the game, assuming there's enough demand
that I make a second chapter. I'm running short on time, and putting her in would mean creating an
entirely new story branch and event sequence for her. On top of that, I'd have to heavily modify the
game engine, because this girl doesn't use a weapon to attack ( well, she does for her standard attack,
but that's it ). She's a necromancer, and so she summons creatures to fight for her and can ressurect
slain enemies during a battle to fight on her behalf.
I've got it all figured out in psuedocode, but I'm looking at it, and I'm thinkin' that's just waaay too much
crap to toss in this close to release. I'm not about to pull a Daikatana, you know? So, anyway, there
you go. If you want to play as the second character and command a horde of undead, support my game
when it drops. Hell, it isn't like you have to pay for it or anything, except in bandwidth.
Beneath the thread title : "SD Gundam: WTF?"

I almost woke up everyone in the house, I laughed so hard. OverClocked ReMix
has some funny-ass people on its message boards.
I don't really have much to say...

...so I'll just give you a quick status update concerning the RPG. I've had the actual story mode system
finished for several months now, but as of two days ago, the battle system was incomplete as all hell.
As of today, however, I've got that squared away, including the enemy AI. I'm pretty proud of it all
together, but the AI is what I'm really, really happy with. It uses a
fuzzy logic decision mechanism that takes into account the player's statistical ability and the
computer character's strengths and weaknesses and generates a random -- yet intelligent -- action.
I intentionally left out a few things from the code to make the computer easier to beat, since the first
version of the AI kicked my ass 9.5 times out of 10...and I'm its daddy. I figured the game wouldn't be
too much fun if every fight were life-and-death, so I lobotomized the code a bit. I think it hits a good
balance right now.
I still have some minor nice-ities to throw in, and I still need to decide how I want to the player to go
about getting items ( should I give them out randomly after a battle or put in a 'shop'? ), but overall
I've got the coding finished. I'm all set to move onto the fun part: graphics. As the game stands now
from a graphical perspective, its pure crap, but hopefully I can remedy all that by Halloween, the current
projected release date.
As a side note, I'm currently searching for songs to pad the game's soundtrack, so if you know of any
heavy metal / punk rock tracks that sound kinda gothic, send them my way
Hmm. That sounds about right

According to this IQ test,
I'm a 129. They also gave a brief summary of my "brain type:"
During the test, you answered four different types of questions — mathematical, visual-spatial, linguistic and logical.
We analyzed how you did on each set of those questions, which reveals the way your brain processes information. We
also compared your answers with others who have taken the test. According to the sorts of questions you got correct,
we can tell your Intellectual Type is a Word Warrior. This means you have exceptional verbal skills. You can easily make
sense of complex issues and take and unusually creative approach to solving problems. Your strengths also make you
a visionary. Even without trying you're able to come up with lots of new and creative ideas.
That sounds about right, I guess.
