The African Curse
In November, we traveled to Canada to help a young woman that was dealing with
the effects of an African curse. This poor woman was affected so badly that she
could not walk by the time we got to her.
Another classmate that was jealous of her placed the curse on her in high
school. This girl pretended to be her friend just so that she could gain access
to her house and get the items that she needed to have the curse put on. At
first the young woman was unaware of what was going on in her life because the
curse was being slowly put on her. By the time that she graduated from high
school the curse began its full onslaught.
As she entered the university the effects of the curse began to be felt. The
first year that she tried to attend she was able to register but not be able to
attend classes. She began to have severe trouble with her stomach. She would
have such bad pains that would render her an invalid, unable to concentrate or
to leave the house.
She sought medical help both for a physical aliment and a mental one, but the
tests came out negative for any problems. The doctors performed exploratory
surgery in hopes of finding a cause for her pain. But nothing was found that
could physically cause her such torment.
Soon she began to experience other symptoms along with the pain. She soon could
not keep anything in her stomach and would vomit. She vomited so many times that
her esophagus was damaged and she needed surgery to help repair that. She soon
was only able to eat soup in small amounts.
If all of this was not bad she developed a very sore ulcer on her foot that once
again the doctor's could find no logical explanation for. This ulcer caused her
a great deal of pain and soon she became unable to walk. Her father would have
to carry her every where even into the bathroom. Life had become a living hell
for her.
Her parents were very religious and would have prayer groups over to the house
to pray for the young woman. During one of these prayer services the demon came
forward and boasted to the family what had happened. Soon we were asked to come
and pray for the woman.
As Larry started his prayers nothing at first happened. The young woman sat
quietly listening to the prayers. Occasionally she would say quietly "help
me Jesus". But then she became quiet and lowered her head for awhile. When
she picked her head up she looked like she was in a lot of pain she began to
grimace and her face began to distort. She started to drool and then she began
to call out in a language that sounded African.
She began to call for one of the demons that possessed her; she screamed its
name over and over again. It was as if the other demons were looking for this
one. Soon she began to talk no stop in this language and she began to rock back
and forth. Mixed in with all of this she also was calling out for Jesus to help
her.
This all went on for a while and soon she became quiet, the talking stopped, as
did the rocking. The poor woman looked worn out. We finished up the ritual and
left. The next day we came back home.
We have been in contact with the family and have found out that she is getting
better each day. They continue to pray and ask the Lord to heal her completely.
