Speed of My Moving Object
Purpose:
Determine the speed of a moving object over a 30 foot distance.
Materials and Activites: stopwatch, yard stick, tennis ball, roller blades, skateboard, bicycle, remote control vehicle, 10 yd scamper .
Procedure:
- Choose any 3 events to participate in.
- Ready oneself or object in staging area.
- Begin event when timer gives start signal.
- Move object or self quickly and safely though marked off area.
- Return for time and record in data table.
- Repeat step 5 again, when it is your turn. Repeat steps 2-5 for a second event
- Using the formula for speed v=d/t calculate your own velocities.
- use the conversion table top change your velocities into miles per hour.
- Hand in your completed lad for credit.
