The Abbey, Fort Augustus Inverness-shire.(Standing on the shores of Loch Ness the abbey occupies the site of the firt which was established here after the 1715 Jacobite rising. The remains of the firt were offered to the Benedictines Order for the erection of a monastery, raised in 1882 to the status of an abbey. In succeeding years the establishment has grown in size and importance.)
