Tilarekna - Friday, November 03, 2000, 10:20 AM ----------------------------------------------- Southeastern Bowl This area of the bowl is the highest point of the bowl floor; from here, it slopes down and to the northwest, spilling out to the plateau below the wide gap in the Weyr rim to the west. Various tunnels here lead into the Weyr's inner caverns; the living caverns, hatching grounds, and main Weyr tunnel all branch off from here. To the west lie the stables where the Weyr's runners are housed. There is also a stone stairway that leads up to the Weyrleader's weyrs. It is a spring before dawn. Perched on rocky crags about the bowl are Mosquiton, Sarau, Restless, Nymph, Nauvoo, Talon, and Etera. Blue Cherenth, blue Abracath, brown Banoth, brown Sevareth, brown Morath, brown Minyath, green Ivrylth, blue Decuth, brown Djarreth, and green Larisseth are here. Obvious exits: Hatching Cavern Central Bowl Weyr Tunnel Living Caverns Bay> Bay warbles at Morath as he wings it out of the living caverns, a cheerful voice echoing across the wide space. Bay> Morath whuffles softly, answering littlecousin's greeting. Bay> Bay hovers near the Big Brother Brown, eyes whirling happily. He's escaped that daft bronze, yes he has! and that noisy new green! Yusyusyus! Whuffling right back, he takes a perch on the rocks nearest to Morath. Bay> Carelock slides from Morath's neck and lands gently on the ground. Bay> Carelock drops a pat on Morath's neck. "Have a nice visit with your friends, lunkhead." She winks at Bay, and heads out in search of breakfast. Bay> Carelock strides to the Living Caverns. Carelock strides in from the Southeastern Bowl. Tilarekna growls. Yes, the Cheerful One is growling. "Jolinar, behave! You'll choke if you don't slow down!" she scolds, even as her newly renamed bronze fire lizard steals meat from the bowl. Her own klah has long since gone cold. Carelock grins sympathetically, and pours herself a mug of klah. "Want a fresh one for yourself? Or are you too busy at the moment?" Tilarekna glancces up, and grins hopefully. "Fresh, please." she near pleads, even as Kairo and Jolinar start sqwabbling over the same scrap. "Cut it out, you two!" Carelock pours a second mug and places it near Rekna, but well out of reach of the squabbling fire lizards. "Would it help if I yelled at them, you think?" she offers with a mischievous glint in her eye. Tilarekna smacks Kairo's nose, making the bronze drop the meat, and Jolinar spirits it away with a creel. "Uh.. no. Thanks for the offer, though," is the reply as she settles back in her chair, her two greedy guts sated. Carelock shrugs. "I've been told I have an intimidating presence.... Just thought it might help." She grins. "Good klah this morning, though," as she sips again from her mug. "Tastes better than usual. Wonder what's different?" Tilarekna sips her own, glancing in Carelocks direction. Klah is klah is klah.. isn't it? Blinking, she begins to nod. "It IS better, isn't it? Perhaps it's freshly brewed? After all, it is spring now.." Carelock blinks. "I hadn't thought about the change of seasons. Maybe it's a new harvest. That could be the difference." She sips thoughtfully. "Or maybe this batch didn't get boiled as long as usual, or got boiled longer. I dunno." She concentrates on the taste of the mouthfull before swallowing. "Or maybe it's a difference in the sweetener - maybe it's fresher or something." Different. Everything seems different today. Including the fact that Carelock isn't sleepy this morning? Tilarekna gives a shrug and a grin. "Aye, I'd say it must be one of the above." Kairo burps, and she gives him a Look, but Jolinar croons happily. She's stuffed. Want to sleep now. Taking the green in her arms, she grins faintly at Carelock. "So, how's Morath today?" Bay> Bay whistles again, and chitters in a rather conversational tone at the big brown brother dragon. The spring light has yet to pierce the early morning darkness, but little eyes can see the big glowing ones. Carelock grins. "Socializing with your little brown, and enjoying the adoration." Tilarekna chuckles, "Bay likes Morath. Adores him, I might say. I think he likes to think of himself as being a minature version of him." That makes her giggle. Carelock snerks, glancing guiltily up at her own brown. "I think that's a common failing of many firelizards who get to know an indulgent dragon. They start thinking that if they just *want* it hard enough, eventually they'll grow up to be a dragon themselves." Bay> Morath whuffles softly, wafting a warm, moist breeze toward the little brown. Soft croon issues forth for just brief moment, before he settles back down into a big brown lump. Tilarekna grins, and shakes her head. "Nah, Bay thinks he's a mini dragon - a mini Big Brown Brother. But you're right about the dragon hero-worship. Can be very amusin' sometimes.." Bay> Bay takes to the wing again, and croons a question, eyes whirling hopefully? Perch onda big brother brown? Pweeassee? Bay> Morath manages to give the impression of an indulgent draconic grin, welcoming the little one to perch on him. Carelock grins. "And not just in fire lizards." Bay> Bay whistles happily and drops onto Morath's head, resting just betwen the eyeridges. Mussle nuzzling his thanks in a friendly scratch, the little brown flips his wings to his back and croons happily. Tilarekna tilts her head to the side at Carelock. "Oh? I take it you mean non-Weyr folk, huh?" Carelock nods. "Yes. Or even some non-rider Weyr folk, but that's usually only if they're new to the Weyr. Sometimes it's amusing, sometimes it's annoying." Tilarekna nods, clearly sympathetic. "I've seen. I think it's cute when the Weyrbrats idolise, though.. They try so hard to be like their favourite rider.." she starts to giggle. Carelock snickers. "Which can be a good thing, and can be a bad thing, depending." Tilarekna keeps giggles, nodding at Carelock. "Aye, aye... *snicker* I had to live in one of the holds a while back, and it was most amusin', seenin' folks treat riders likee they were.. higher than other folks." Most perplexing. After all, Riders are people too. Carelock nods. "Speaking of which, I've got to go talk to a few of those Holders - time for sweeps. Wish me luck." Carelock * has to get back to work. *pout* Carelock strides to the Bowl. Bay> Carelock strides in from the Living Cavern. Bay> Carelock clambers up Morath's neck and settles in between two neckridges. Bay> From Morath's neck, Carelock slowly nods off, sound asleep. Bay> Bay carefully takes wing from Morath's head and flutters over towards Sevareth. Ooooo, he knows THIS big brown brother. Nice brown brother? Remember Bay? Bay> Sevareth blinks. Once. Twice. Flitter is eyed quasi-suspiciously before the brown dragon thoughtfully and draconically *yerps* at it. No rumble, no majestic trumpeting...just yerp (trumpeting). Bay> Sevareth * Woo, I did that with my eyes closed. Bay> Bay * giggles. Bay> Etera * is impressed... Bay> Sevareth *cannot see what she be typing. Bay> Sevareth *carryon. Tilarekna * is highly Impressed. ;) Bay> Bay * is highly Impressed. ;) Bay> Etera * notes that if he were more Highly Impressed than he is now.. He'd follow Sevareth around for life. Bay> Bay whistles in awwweeee.... He's been yerped at? Ooooo. Wow. Slowly gliding to a high rock outcrop, he peers at the other Big Brown Brother with rapidly whirling eye colours. Bay> Yes, Sevareth yerps. It's a hiccupy sort of quasi-twitter, and it's all for the benefit of Bay, once again cocking his heaed at the child. A few hobbling steps forward and he's nose to nose with him. Yerp? Yerp. Bay> Bay blinkblinks.... then bugles in his own mini-Morath fashion. He's a mini-Morath, is Bay! Yusyusyus! HeLLOO, big brother Sevareth! Hellooooo! (Bugle!) Bay> Sevareth notes that, indeed, it is another beee-yoo-tee-ful brown. Ohyeah . Gotta love them choc'latey-like bebbes. Inhaling slightly, the mini-Brown is offered a whuffle *whooosh* Bay> Bay squuuuueeeeeaaaakkkkssss at he's whuffled right up close, and little bay wings get whipped back, fluttering as little brown talons grip tightly to thee stones and rock and Weyr. Woooo! He's gonna be lifting off if he no hold on! *meep!* He lets out a chitter of startlement at the whoosh-whuffle. Ooo! Fun! Do it again? Bay> Bay * is logging this.. ^_^ Bay> Sevareth clouds slightly around the eyes -- as if they weren't empty enough -- as draconic conversation ensues. Shaking off the reverie, he fixes Bay with a single, bejeweled eye. Very interesting. I think I shall call him... Mini Sev. Bay> Mini Sev... Has a ring to it, doesn't it? AH HAH! I am Mini-Sev, hear me roar! *BUGLE!* Well, it was a good attempt, right? Little Bay trumpets loudly, wings giving a big flap.
