Government Type: Federal Republic (Federal Alliance).
A president leads the Gigerdi Alliance; along with him is a large senate of about 2500 members that decide on all other decisions that don't concern the President's authority. The Senate is composed of two representatives from each member state or Colony world that the GA has. The Senate elections are held every two years; two members are elected from each state by popular vote to serve six-year terms.
The president is both the chief of state and head of government; president and vice president are elected on the same ticket by the Gigerdi Alliance citizens, all citizens are allowed to vote; president and vice president serve six-year terms.
