Info: Nebula, like Sovereign and Galaxy class,
was designed with Humans during the Gigerdian-Human alliance. Nebula was designed
shortly after the Gorg war. Nebula was a totally new science vessel, which had
a lot new science equipment. Nebula soon took the place as the main science
vessel in both Gigerdi Federation and Starfleet. Nebulas usually worked in groups
investigating some planet, star, nebula, anomaly, moon, etc. Nebulas were never
seen in any war except in the Lightness war where Lightness attacked several
Nebulas in the Andromeda galaxy. Nebulas declared independence when Rubik was
in control and joined with each other and with every other science and exploration
vessel and then started their run. This group was later attacked by Rubik's
forces, but somehow they survived from them without loosing a single ship. Nebulas
are currently in use a lot and are mostly working in the Andromeda galaxy.

Space Class Science Ship

Info: Space class is pretty much nothing more than
a modified Nebula, which has been added more firepower. Space has got improvements
on some science capabilities, but also disimprovements on some. Space class
was designed after the Lightness war to be a science ship capable of defending
itself, still the design never really came into use since currently Space classes
are only used to defend Nebula classes.

Info: Star class is the biggest and the best science
vessel in the Gigerdi Alliance. Still it's used only very little due to its
big size. Star also has quite a lot of weapons, so it doesn't require escorts
or defense ships as much as the other science vessels. Few of these were built
after the Lightness war, but mostly Stars only assist Nebulas in their missions
in the Andromeda galaxy.

Info: The Oktoberfests were standard, but small
science ships used by the Gigerdi Federation in its early days of exploring
the alpha and beta quadrants. The ship used a mixture of Hyperdrive and warp
drive as its FTL drive and jump drive. There weren’t many of these things
made, most of them vanished without a trace into a distant worlds. The most
fondly remembered Oktoberfest class science ship was the “G.F.S. Kaljapullo”,
in which legendary gigerdian captain Kaljamaha piloted a mission to save the
“whales” (?), along with several other missions as Kaljamaha in its
command. Most of the Oktoberfests were decommissioned after the finding the
Hemmoians. Also, legendary science officer “Spick” served in G.F.S.
Kaljapullo with the captain Kaljamaha.
Oberth Class Science Ship

science and research capabilities.

Info: Oberth is the oldest and smallest of all
the science ships. Oberth was designed years before the Gorg war only by Humans.
It's unknown why GF got these ships, some believe GF somehow got their hands
on several of Oberths some believe that Starfleet gave some of these ships to
GF, but whatever the reason was GF got about 50 of these before the Gorg war
even begun. Oberths were the main science vessels before Nebulas came, then
Oberths lost their job totally. Some Oberths still remained to help Nebulas.
In Lightness war Oberths got new meaning again. Since GA had so a lot of these
they decided to use them as targets. Unmanned Oberths were used as targets for
Lightness mostly to help transports in their evacuation. Some unmanned Oberths
were fully loaded with explosives and then rammed to enemy targets. Still about
10 Oberths survived from the war and were assigned to help Nebulas in the Andromeda
galaxy.
