Unit Outline:
Named after a Cardavian hero who drove out invaders nearly 1000 years ago, the Spirecrof is the most produced, and most versatile of all KCDI Ground Forces mechs.  With a simple design, high maximum speed, and a moderate punch and defense system, it is a general purpose combat mech.  Though it lacks the punch of larger KCDI mechs, it can easily take on larger enemy mechs and come out on top, but still has enough speed to easily escape if things get too tough.

System Specifications:
The main weapons of the Spirecrof is a pair of Grasers, one mounted on each shoulder.  They provide good power at moderate range, and the power requirements and heat generation is low.  They are also quick firing and good for anti-aerospace defense.
The longest ranged, and perhaps the most powerful weapons carried on the Spirecrof is a single 10-tube MicroFusion missle launchers.  The MF-10 has an extremely long range and its accuracy is as incredible as its destructive power.  The seeking ability of the MF-10 allows it to easily track and shoot down aerospace vehicles.
To back up the twin Grasers are two Xasers mounted under them on either side.  Simple weapons with moderate range and power, they are used against infantry mostly, but are also useful against other tanks or mechs.
The final weapon is a single Burst Maser mounted under the cockpit.  A strictly anti-infantry weapon, it can dispatch entire squads of infantry quickly, though its effectiveness against vehicles is very low.
The Spirecrof is protected by 4 tons of ArMax armor, as well as a Type 5 HiCS System.  This combination protects the Spirecrof from most weapons, though heavier mechs do carry the power needed to break through these defenses.  While the armor and shield together form a very good combination, they are not impervious and a pilot must be careful who he engages.

Operational Capabilities:
Spirecrofs are the main battle mechs of the KCDI Ground Forces.  Their small size matched with their quick speed, and good weapons and protection allow them to tangle with most enemies and fair well.  Due to their simple design and ease of maintanence, many of these machines have been, and still are being produced.  They are the most numerous mech in the KCDI Ground Forces.
