SPOILERS: Small one for 100 Days, and the first episode of season 3 (can't remember the name, sorry), Children of the Gods, no more that I know about.
RATING: PG
CONTENT WARNINGS: Insects. If you don't like them, don't read this. Also, tissues. Lots and lots of tissues.
SUMMARY: Teal'c's in a coma, and everyone realises how much they need him at SGC and on Earth.
DISCLAIMER: Stargate (sadly) isn't mine. (Boohoo). It belongs to the good, rich people at Showtime/Viacom, MGM/UA, Double Secret Productions and Gekko Productions, who aren't going to sue me, cause I got nothing but a really nice feeling inside when I wrote this, and a headache.
AUTHOR'S NOTES: This is the first 'weepy' one I wrote. Send feedback, or I go back to fluffy comedy ones.
'Dammit Teal'c...'
Yeah, I know. It would usually be Danny-boys name here. But nope, Daniel is sitting here, looking as worried as I am. Sam is sitting next to him, chewing her lower lip.
I can here what you're thinking. Bedside vigil? For the practically indestructible Teal'c? No, surely not.
Well, its true alright, Teal'c is in a coma. Janet gave us the usual rigmarole, then left us for SG-3, who had had a battle with the Goa-uld, or something unimportant like that.
We'd 'gated to a brand new world, which was supposed to have fascinating rocks (artefacts!) or something like that. But when we'd arrived, a big swarm of something came up to us. I swear they could smell our blood. But whatever they were, they hurt. We got stung left, right and centre. Hell, I'm surprised we're not all in a coma, especially Mr 'I'm allergic to practically everything' Daniel Jackson.
But anyway, Sam kept on screaming, Daniel was looking flustered, and Teal'c was his normal self. Either way, I was not staying here. 'Lets move out!' I called. They all nodded, and Daniel leapt forward to the DHD and the familiar whoosh followed soon after. We all ran through the Stargate, and the vortex swallowed us.
On arrival, we all toddled off to the infirmary (well trained, aren't we?). We were all being treated, when Teal'c said, quite calmly
'Doctor Fraiser, I do not believe-'
And the big guy fell to the floor, and he hasn't woken up since.
God, what will I do if he dies?
God, what will I do if he dies?
I've had bedside vigils before. Most times I'm actually in the bed, and sometimes it's Sam or Jack. But never Teal'c.
And I have a problem with insects. Ha!
Janet says that the amount of insects was too much to cope with, but he will get better. Doesn't make me feel much better.
I don't know about Jack or Sam, but I've thought a lot about Teal'c, and what he means to Earth. Well, if he wasn't around, our planet might be blown up, sent into slavery, or worse.
Jack and Sam both look like hell.
God, what will we all do if he dies?
God, what will I do if he dies?
We've been here for three hours now, and even though Janet says he should wake up soon, we all still panic. It's a natural reaction, especially with all of Daniels reactions. I sit and watch him, and realise how much SG-1 needs him. If Teal'c hadn't of existed, I don't know what would've happened my first time on Abydos. I, Jack and countless others would be dead. And if we survived that, something else would've killed us. Jack would still be on Edoras, or a Jaffa on Chulak.
OK, so perhaps you can't see it, but he's the most loving guy around, and he does scare the hell out of most people. But, when Cassie was still unknown to us, it was one of Teal'cs rare, magic smiles that tempted her out.
And he would willingly die for us. Not many people can say that.
God, what will I do if he dies?
This is different.
For once, myself and my symbiote are working together to heal my multiple injuries.
It is odd.
Though I have often sat by someone else's bedside, it is a rare occurrence to be in the bed.
I am able to sense my friend's presence, though they talk little. General Hammond came in once, and Doctor Fraiser checks me occasionally. It is nice to know that so many people care for me.
No-wait. My healing is complete! I can open my eyes! So I do.
I am glad I will not die.
Sg-1 except one leapt out of their chairs when they saw Teal'c awake. They laughed, cried and hugged in that order when they had calmed down.
Thank God for small miracles.
