AUTHORS NOTES: Written as a joke instead of oh so boring coursework. My apologies to examining boards- set more interesting coursework if you want my undivided attention! Feedback loved, huggled and replied.
Jack looked around him, taking in the scene. The enemy had taken them. They had come to this place, seeking peace, just to talk. The enemy had seemed like a friend- in the beginning.
Then he had turned on his weapon. It was a mind weapon, designed to knock out the victim into a coma by slowing down the neural responses. It could be fought, but it was hard. Teal’c had instantly snapped into kel’no’reem, recognising this kind of weapon, and knowing how to combat it. Sam and Jack, not being so fortunate, had held out for as long as they could. Jack turned to look at Sam, and as he looked at her, her head also fell to her chest- another one down.
The enemy hardly even seemed to notice. He instead turned all his attention to Jack, focussing every molecule of his energy onto the Colonel. However, the enemy had made a grave mistake- while he was focussing his secret weapon on Jack, he wasn’t actually looking at Jacks actions.
Jack looked carefully around him, trying to make any quick movements. That would be suicide. The enemy had taken away Jacks P90, knife and handgun- although he didn’t know how to work them, he certainly knew they were dangerous. But the enemy HAD left some very basic materials around him. It wasn’t going to be the next atomic bomb, but it would be enough to take the enemy down, presuming he didn’t see what Jack was doing.
Jack, achingly slowly, stretched out his arm to recover the little he needed to bring the enemy down and to bring Sam back to him. It would probably be tricky to make, but Jack knew he could- various childhood games always helped in later life. He had often used this weapon before, although normally on next door but ones pet cat. And son, of course. He had hated little Jamie when they were younger.
Agonisingly slowly, he pulled al the necessary materials towards him. The enemy didn’t see him- as long as he kept his movements slow and smooth, hopefully the enemy wouldn’t realise what he was up to, wouldn’t see the secret weapon. He had a gut feeling that the enemy had never made anything like this, and wouldn’t know what had hit him.
As Jack stealthily built, he could hear the enemy building up momentum on his weapon- no matter how much Jack might try to look like one falling under the influence of the weapon, the enemy might eventually suspect something. Jack tried to build as quickly as he could, knowledgeable of a constant ticking of time against him.
With one twist of his hand, Jacks secret weapon was ready. As the enemy slightly turned his back to him, Jack pulled back his hand, and threw the weapon at the enemy. The enemy coughed and spluttered, and his weapon switched itself off. Sam’s head flew up from her chest fast enough to cause whiplash, and Teal’c’s eyes flipped open. It was over- now, to escape from the enemies’ hands…
Daniel plucked the paper aeroplane out of his mouth, and glared at Jack.
‘You know, Jack, if you’re bored, you can always just leave. You don’t actually NEED to learn about the back story of Nerfertum…’
It was too late. Jack had already made his way out of the doorway, with the rest of SG1, leaving Daniel behind. Daniel sighed.
‘Sometimes you’d think that I bored them!’ he said, and wandered out of his office in the direction of SG1.
