But what if that word does not mean 'conquerer'?
Malachai rubbed the back of his neck. The infra-red output of the star had increased along with the coronal mass emmissions; he was hot, he was sweating, and he was beginning to get a headache.
The stargate opened.
The Tau'Re, again. Dealing with Colonel O'Neill is becoming quite tedious.
But it was not the Tau'Re team which emerged from the gate. O'Neill had gone on the offensive.
"GAK!" Malachai yelped.
He had been struck, hard, by some kind of non-lethal weapon. A projectile, it was white, round, slightly smaller than a hen's egg, with a strange, dimpled texture. At first he thought it was going to explode.
Then a second emerged from the event horizon. He ducked, and watched as it sailed far overhead. A minute later, came a third.
They can't possibly be aiming those things. What are they doing, playing games with me?
Next cycle, I'm getting a force field. I'll not put up with this!
Whatever it was, it left quite a painful welt.
