"Colonel Makepeace?"
"General, sir."
Davis tweeked her computer, displaying the MALP video on her monitor. Hammond leaned closer to view it.
"We were about to report," Makepeace's image spoke from the video screen. "We just got word that Klorel is auctioning SG-1 to the other Systemlords. Apparently everyone wants a piece of them."
"Do you know where they are?"
"No, sir, even the Goa'uld don't seem to know. Klorel's not important enough for them to keep track of; with the fall of Apophis the Systemlords never expected he'd have something they want.
"It looks like things are going to heat up around here pretty fast, but we still don't know where to go. Apparently Heru-Ur is plotting to take SG-1 from Klorel by force, if he can find him. It's a pretty good guess the other Systemlords are thinking along the same lines,' Makepeace took a breath, perhaps searching for words.
"Sir, based on the auction, Colonel O'Neill, Captain Carter, and Dr. Jackson must be alive, but Teal'c wasn't put up for bid. I'd like to hope it means he's escaped, but..."
"That is why I'm contacting you now, Colonel," Hammond paused, "There was a broadcast on Chulak. Teal'c has been killed."
Makepeace blinked long, then sighed. "Well, that about sucks--sir."
The General gave him a few seconds before continuing.
"Have you learned anything more about the Goa'uld in Dr. Coleman?"
"Nothing yet, sir. We have every reason to believe she's still on Klorel's ship with SG-1."
"All right. We'll have to continue to hurry-up-and-wait. Rescue SG-1 if you can, but remember your primary mission is to make sure Dr. Coleman does not reveal our tactical position. Understood?"
"Aye, sir."
"Hammond out."
