HISTORY: Alanis Logan is, genetically at least, the daughter of Wolverine from a possible future. She appeared to the X-Women in their darkest hour, just after the Mutant Registration Act had been passed and the X-Women were being hunted as fugitives. Alanis told them that she was from a future where the Mutant Registration Act had become law, and the world had degenerated into anarchy because of it. She represented a group called The Nexus, that generation's version of the X-Women, led by that era's Charles Xavier. Alanis was The Nexus's best fighter, and as such had been chosen to go back and aid the X-Women in their fight against government agent Drake Dubois and his puppetmaster Apocalypse, the real mastermind behind the coup that was taking place all across America. Alanis instructed the X-Women to fight Apocalypse and put him back into hibernation, thus ending his hold on Drake Dubois and the Mutant Registration Act.

Alanis, however, was nothing more than a minion of Apocalypse herself. It was never clear whether En Sabah Nur created her from Wolverine's genes, or whether she was actually Logan's child and had been recruited by the mutant demigod, but Alanis turned on the X-Women at the critical moment and nearly made it possible for Apocalypse to destroy them. She herself was the cause of her possible future, not Apocalypse. Wolverine mortally wounded Alanis, and Alanis told Wolverine to kill her, to avoid any chance of Apocalypse's victory. She had grown attached to her genetic mother, and as a last act she removed the mental blocks that Weapon X had implanted in Logan's brain, allowing her real memories to return. Alanis then threw herself off the roof of Genosha's presidential palace rather than be resurrected by Apocalypse.
