HISTORY: The world's oldest mutant, Apocalypse was born into ancient Egyptian society and has witnessed nearly the whole of human history. First worshipped as a dark god and later seeking world domination, Apocalypse has been responsible for more atrocities than any other member of homo superior. Just after the X-Women had brought their team back to fighting trim, Apocalypse took over the mind of corrupt army colonel Drake Dubois. Gaining Dubois's knowledge about the government's secret Sentinel program, Apocalypse, as Dubois, passed the Mutant Registration Act, causing martial law to be declared throughout north America and mutants to be herded into holding camps by his new and evolved Sentinels. Apocalypse also planted a spy among the X-Women, Wolverine's genetic daughter Alanis Logan. The passing of the Mutant Registration Act caused the death of X-Women ally Slash, the near death of Shadowcat and Nuclear, and branded the X-Women terrorist fugitives from the law. The team fled to Madripoor and then to Genosha, where, with Joseph's help, they fought a one-on-one battle with Apocalypse and sent him back into a hibernation state, freeing Dubois from his mind control. The X-Women's name was cleared and the Mutant Registration Act repealed, but the shadow of Apocalypse always looms, waiting for his next opportunity to unleash destruction on the world.
