HISTORY: Virtually nothing is known about Domino's heritage or early life, and even her name remains a mystery. She first came to light when she was hired as a mercenary to kidnap a scientist known as Thurman, who had the ability to predict global events with uncanny accuracy. There were many who wished to use Thurman's power to their advantage, but Domino fell in love with the man and ultimately helped him go into hiding. It was Thurman who gave her the name Domino, as a reference to both her mutant abilities and the black dot over her left eye. He also called her Beatrice, after a character from Dante's Inferno, his favorite book. Both names stuck, and Domino has yet to reveal a different one.

Domino next came to the attention of the time-traveling mutant Cable, son of Cyclops and Gene Grey from an alternate future. Cable recruited her for his mercenary outfit the Six Pack, and Domino served with the short-lived outfit until it was destroyed.

Some time later, Cable, under the auspices of his mother Cyclops, formed the mutant team X-Force. Among those he recruited was Domino, and she brought the surviving members of the Six Pack with her. The Domino serving with X-Force, however, was not the real thing - she was the mutant known as Copycat, who had been sent to allay Cable's suspicions. The real Domino had been kidnapped months before by members of the Hellfire Club, who were using her to find Thurman. Cable delt with Copycat, but not before she destroyed X-Force's base. He also rescued a grateful Domino, who served as his field commander for the duration of X-Force as a team.

When the old X-Force gave way to newer members, Domino joined the X-Women, who were glad to have her luck on their side.
