POWERS: None. Masque is a completely normal human. He formerly had an age-supression agent implanted into his brain, but it was destroyed when he attempted to kill himself.
WEAPONS: A customized sniper rifle, a 9mm Beretta fitted with a silencer, and a titanium butterfly knife.
HISTORY: Masque began life as the Team X operative Silver Fox, lover of X-Woman Wolverine. A tempestuous individual, Masque often came into conflict with the other members of Team X, most notably the savage mutant Sabretooth. After a violent confrontation at Team X headquarters, where Silver Fox accused Sabretooth of cheating with Wolverine, Victor Creed appeared to follow the pair to their rural cabin and savagely murder Silver Fox. This was revealed to be a false memory implanted by the Weapon X program for reasons that remain unclear, and when Wolverine and Sabretooth were transported to an alternate past by the time-shredding villain Cosmic they saw Silver Fox's true death by suicide. This also proved to be untrue, however, when Silver Fox was revealed to be alive in the guise of Masque, an assassin who wore a Tragedy theater mask at all times. Now insane, with a disfigured face from his suicidal fall, Masque blamed Wolverine for failing to aid him when she lost her grip trying to save him from his leap off the cliff near their cabin. Masque was hired by mutant twins Deus Ex and Potentia to aid a mind-controlled Wolverine in building their overseas army, but Masque had been merely looking for a way to get close to Logan and exact his revenge. He infected her with a Weapon X-designed adamantium-eating virus, but fortunately the X-Women retrieved Logan and found the antidote in time. Masque next took Wolverine's protégé Shadowcat hostage in an attempt to lure Logan to him, but Logan came prepared and the two engaged in a bloody battle. Logan emerged the victor, another demon from her past exorcised.
