POWERS: Slash is superhumanly strong, has the ability of flight and has superior eyesight, able to shoot the center of a playing card from 1000 yards without assistance.
WEAPONS: M-16 rifle and several customized sidearms. Slash is also extremely skilled in hand-to-hand combat.
HISTORY: Slash takes his code name from high school football, where he was a star quarterback. Unsure of his position in the world when his mutant powers manifested, Slash left home and joined the navy, where his mutations quickly helped him become a SEAL. He rose through the ranks, becoming a lieutenant, with no one in his command having any idea he was a mutant. While on leave in New York City, Slash met Sarah Summers, the mutant known as Cyclops. He was instantly enamored of Sarah, but she was standoffish, believing that a normal man would never understand about her mutation or her commitment to the X-Women. Slash eventually did find out, and confessed he was also a mutant. The two recognized a kindred spirit and they were soon married. Slash was not often able to be with his wife, and after his last mission as a SEAL he was classified MIA and presumed dead. Slash was not dead, merely imprisoned, and he eventually escaped and came back to Westchester for an extended furlough. He fought alongside the X-Women, and was kidnapped and tortured by the villain Purgatory. He was rescued, but the mutant Phantom set it up to look like he had been cheating on Cyclops, and Sarah divorced him. After the defeat of the Iron Fist and Phantom, they were remarried, but Slash was killed attempting to quell a riot along with his SEAL team during the passing of the Mutant Registration Act.
