RIMS & TIRES...

A company by the name of MRC supplied the rims and tires. They offer several different combinations of tire and rim sets. I used kit number BB100, these are Mickey Thompson Tires and Cragar Rims . To me these did the trick. Several Batmobile replicas had similar rims because these where close enough to the Radar Rims. Being these kits had a mixed pair, meaning the rear tires where too wide, I had to have two sets. They are well worth it!!! The kit also offers a variety of adapters to fit mostly any model kit. I did have to shave some length off the box stock metal axles so that they would fit snug underneath the Batmobiles flared out fenders. As you can see I will have to work on getting some Bat Hubs.

ROCKET TUBES...

The tubes are fairly simple!! I used 1/8" plastic tube from Evergreen. I cut them on a 45 degree angle and then eyed them up for the proper scale, the one in the middle being the slightly longer one. I also figured while I am on the rear of the car I should make the antenna. For this I stripped some small gauge wire. I wrapped one piece several times around a sewing needle for the base. Then cut a length for the antenna itself and stuck it through the center of the base, then glued it on.

POLISH...

Just to let you know, these steps are only the basics and I had to do alot more to mirror the image of the real BATMOBILE!! Some of these steps where cutting structural plastic for knobs, levers and any other gadget present in the interior. Also touching up where needed and adding any other exterior detail such as parachute cables and license plate backing for the decal. Skyhook takes care of the easy assembled parts for the center divider with signal light horns and police style blinker. The finish is the fun!! I used Novus plastic polish and scratch remover for the canopy and Final Detail Model Wax for buffing up The Batmobiles showroom shine!!!
