The mother virus was first discovered by a so far unknown man leading the small company Century Living, which was a small medicinal clinic in the early 1900. It was discovered when a mysterious decease was infecting people in the city where the man was working on creating a vaccine for the infected as he discovered the beginning of the virus. In it's purest shape, it only took a few minutes to destroy the infection of the decease that was killing so many people. But when the infection of the decease was stopped, the virus continued to strike the cells of the body, reviving the dead and dying cells and finally causing immediate death to the infected person. The first victim to the virus was standing in front of the man, and nearly killed him. It was shortly after the discovery of the virus, which later in 1907 got called the "Mother Virus", as the man started "The Umbrella Incorporation" and so far it's been his family and sons that is handling the company. Later on in 1945 after the end of the second world war the third variation of the Mother virus was created, which later on caused the virus HIV and AIDS to spread in the world due to a laboratory accident. Both HIV and AIDS were small drawbacks in the third virus, which were immediately canceled.
In 1977 a sixth variation was created as the project was handed over to Dr. J. Marcus, allowing White Umbrella as the sub part of Umbrella was called to create the CAIS, the first successful BOW of Umbrella, and also their first big drawback. However, Dr. Marcus abused his power very early and had to be fired. But following Dr. Marcus came Dr. William Birkin, who took over the projects just a few years after Dr. Marcus.
It was in 1981 that the T-virus first was created, the finest and most advanced version of the Mother virus, which came to surface thanks Dr. Birkin's staff working at the Spencer Mansion facility, previously owned by Mr. Spencer. The T-virus is still the most used virus as all of Umbrellas facilities throughout the world uses it to create new variations.

"Analysis of the T-virus Pathogen"

The T-virus was first created by a White Umbrella research team in October 1981. The virus was developed out of the Mother virus, which was the first virus to be developed and researched by White Umbrella. The T-virus is mainly in its early stage used to begin a mutation process in humans, eventually causing them to become a Tyrant due to development and treatment to the virus as it grows in the human body. But when only being exposed to the lethal airborne T-virus it'll lead to that all body functions is reduced to a state close to death, thereafter relives the body to the zombie state as it's come to be called. This state of the human will make the host of the virus a walking death, only out after killing and eating their victims. The creatures infected by the T-virus in its purest form don't however attack each other. BOW's developed by Umbrella also shows that they will not attack each other unless extreme conditions appear.
When being infected by the T-virus and not undergoing treatment for developing a Tyrant, the virus begins with infection, similar to an ordinary cold. Then the T-virus quickly suppresses the immune system to insure its own survival, thereby causing further infection by bacteria and thus causing the appearance of decay and in case of development and treatment for a Tyrant, re-routing all nutrients toward the development of muscles and keratin. But with the ordinary infection, it'll lead to the hosts death and thereafter revive it.

As stated in previous documents, T-virus organisms have a remarkably fast metabolism that allows them to regenerate very quickly. However, this requires huge amounts of energy, and will weaken the ordinary BOW. With some subjects such as zombies and related undead creatures it seems as if this sudden weakening of the body will result in a hunger and extreme aggressiveness along with the highly acidic fluid present in the organism's digestive system. This mutation of the digestive system not only provides faster digestion of food, but also can be used as a weapon to cause death or wound a pray. To achieve a Tyrant, the heightened metabolism can be used to repair damaged tissue (in essence, reviving the dead tissue) and as a factor to accelerate mutation. It is confirmed that when the test subjects reaches the state of "Tyrant shape", the digestive system shuts down, and Tyrant is now a physical killing machine, a perfect bioweapon without the weakness in hunger etc which the "normal" infected person holds. The Tyrant however keeps the aggressiveness the whole time.

The T-virus also displays various neural reprogramming mechanisms and the most obvious one is the shutting down of memory and sentient sectors of the brain, resulting in "zombie-like" behavior. This also allows the Tyrants to be freed from feeling pain, as the brain simply shuts it off. Early Tyrants as the T-000 and the T-001 shown that they simply ignored any pain caused to them, but these early subjects later were disposed off as they shown weakness in tissue and bone, causing them to simply breakdown as soon as they were out of the tanks. With the T-002, they achieved a whole different creature, it was able to resist pain as the previous ones but could also keep its body intact and not dying after a few minutes. It also showed a remarkable power in resisting what ever damage caused to it because of its body with its accelerated metabolism, that could produce a vast amount of endorphins or other pleasure inducing hormones along with the fact that the brains ignoring the fact of pain.

"Analysis of the G-virus Pathogen"

The G-virus, a marvelous creation made by Dr. William Birkin, one of Umbrella's finest top researchers. The virus actually is an improvement of the T-virus, better in almost all aspects. What is the most impressive aspects of this new variation is that it's not airborne, and needs to be either injected or implanted into the host, making the virus more secure to handle. And the mutation rate is directly proportional to the amount of virii in the bloodstream, which explains Dr. Birkins fast mutations during the destruction of Raccoon City, this is based on reports and video surveillance of the lab and sewer system. The new variation also have an, unlike the old T-virus, reproductive capabilities. The G variations are able to insert their larvae into other organisms, which use their host as food until they become mature enough to leave (destroying their host immediately upon being born) and repeat the process themselves once they get adults. Since the immune system attacks any foreign body that enters it (in this case, the parasitic G-Type larvae), there is a chance that the host could (violently) reject the G-Type. But this does not ensure the survival of the host, on the contrary it kills the host quicker as the embryo/larvae is being forced to leave the body quicker than expected, possibly through the hosts abdomen or chest. But if the genetic maps of the host are similar to the G-Types the survival of the embryo is almost 100%.

By using this method, Umbrella does not have to continually manufacture new bioweapon creatures. Despite its uncontrollable nature, Umbrella still has a fail-safe mechanism, in this case being the G-virus vaccine, "Devil.". More of that in the end of this report. Furthermore the G-Types also mutates to a much bigger scale than the ordinary T-virus Tyrants. This coincides with their ability to reproduce, suggesting that the G-virus is more of an experiment in rapid evolution (the basis of evolution is that successful variations will reproduce, ensuring survival of the fittest). Because of the G-Type rapid mutation rate, variations of the organism can be produced in smaller amounts of time. While the Tyrant may have a Achilles' heel that would result in the deaths of all Tyrant creatures, the G-Type can continually changes, mutates, strengthening weak points but could also create weak points of its body to strengthen others. Because the G-virus is based off of the T-virus, it is no surprise that early mutations of the G-Type are strikingly similar to that of a Tyrant-type organism.

"Analysis of the NE-T virus Pathogen"

The NE-T virus is shrouded in mystery, as we still don't know anything of its creator. Umbrella is working hard on keeping the research team in the dark as pervious projects involving new viruses or variations have lead to failures and mistakes resulting in catastrophes. What is known is that the variation was created and developed in a officially abandoned facility in Europe and then later to be send to the European Umbrella research Facility. It was there that the "Nemesis-T", the NE-T virus was defined and used to create the first Tyrant, but named Nemesis for it's purpose. The "Nemesis" is a Tyrant-like being with cognitive abilities that surpass the typical viral organism. First tests were carried out on guinea pigs and thereafter on humans, resulting in the Nemesis.

Nemesis shows several distinctive features in opposite to the Tyrants:
To begin with it shows an incredible intelligence and amazing muscular movements due to the fact that the creation from human to Nemesis is safe to say outstanding. The Nemesis have shown throughout tests that it is able to open and close doors, in opposite towards the Tyrants and T-00's who all would go through walls and such to get what they're after. The enemies however can open and close doors, which means that by turning the knob on a door requires rather precise muscle movements, and the Nemesis shows this ability. The intricate hand movements required to open a door, could also be applied to other complex hand movements, such as operating a firearm. Because his control over his muscles is greater than that of the typical viral organism, he is capable of aforementioned complex hand movements, limited speech, and running, as well as quick movements like dodging and running while operating other features.
The Nemesis is also aware of cause-effect relationships. Higher animals also have that ability. For example, he can anticipate danger and attempt to avoid it, or he can relate mechanical movements to certain actions (turning a knob opens a door, pulling a trigger fire a missile, for example). All other mutations including the Tyrants haven't shown anything like this before. It also got external vessels with fluid containing the NE-t virus variation as it's been implanted into its blood, which he can use to infect other subjects, leading to a state which is similar to the T-virus zombie state but the NE-T zombies is alot more powerful and faster due to the more effective and fast virus.
Physically, this is Nemesis' most distinctive feature. Because muscles seem to have grown around these vessels, he can wield them with great control, using them to grasp, strike, or pierce opponents. Another factor along with its vessels is that the Nemesis have an incredible strength to resist pain, although he feels extreme points of pain. He also, like the Tyrants, doesn't mutate upon being defeated, but when exposed to fire there is a possibility to protect itself from the fire that it'll develop a new layer of skin. This theory is built on the Raccoon City incident where after being defeated and exposed to fire, upon arising the Nemesis had developed long tentacles and a new layer of hardened skin to protect itself from further attacks.

It is assumed that the metabolism of the NE-T Type surpasses that of any other viral organism (which in turn explains Nemesis' high recovery rate).

"Concerning the Effects of Artificial Viri on Non-humans"
The virus still produces the same effects on humans, although because of genetic differences, it may have a more limited effect. In other mammals, such as dogs, the effect may be similar, a gradual process of mutation that results in a Tyrant type organisms. However, more drastic effects are seen in other, more variant or simpler, organisms (plants and insects). It is assumed that their drastic mutations result from growth meant for human beings and not by these organisms.

"Conclusions regarding Umbrellas Development/Research Options"
To begin with, Umbrella is now able to create fully grown creatures without the use of a womb, some creatures can be created with just injecting the virus and awaits mutation. Umbrella also have a complete map of the human genome and knows about what traits each gene represents. It has also been proved that Umbrella now is able to control and program their creations to follow orders, in other words "program" the instincts of organisms.

"Interpretation of the general viral mutation process"

1. The Mother Virus
The first variation will lead to immediate death after disposing of any sickness or viruses in the host's body. To a certain point this virus is incredible as it search the body for any infections or viruses and destroys them without harming the body. Even though research were canceled on this as the finer, more advanced T-virus was created it's only the Mother virus that so far holds the amazing feature to kill any known deceases in our time. However, by using it, it'll clean the body from deceases and the host will feel amazing for a short period of time. Then the Mother virus takes over the body and soon there's nothing left but terrible remains of what's once were called a human. But before reaching that stage the host will have incredible strength and aggressiveness, not to mention an incredible hunger and wanting for blood and flesh. Only three people have been treated with this variation, all three were disposed of as soon as the virus started to mutate.

2. The T-Virus
The virus is injected to the host by air, there is no known way of protecting yourself from this infection if you're not fully protected by the infected air. Later variations such as the NT-T virus have also shown that by just being exposed by the virus, the skin will take the virus into the body and thereafter your infected. When the virus is infecting the body, it attacks the immune system which then allows the virus to slowly take over the body. During this process, the virus will destroy any other viruses, cases with HIV and Cancer shows that the T-virus kills the infected cells to be the only virus working inside the host. The first part is just like having a cold, then the host will experience extreme conditions of coldness and skin irritating, then memory loss and problems with using correct movements follows. Shortly thereafter the host is being "killed", stopping almost all functions in the body. Then the virus relives the body and certain body functions. Immediate decay of skin, brain and other functions is started as the host lives again. This is because nutrients are re-routed towards vital functions and the development of muscles and keratin as in the Tyrant development cases. Victim has reached "zombie" phase. At this point, there is greater muscle mass and/or density, and the brain is geared entirely toward feeding upon other humans. Olfactory senses have been enhanced enough to smell other living humans. Digestive system has become highly acidic to accelerate digestion. Metabolism is noticeably higher.
In case of Tyrant development and not ordinary infections among humans, the victim will after the zombie state mutate further with help of further adjustments, building more muscle, bone, and claws, until the final form of Tyrant is reached.

3. The G-Virus
Almost the same as the T-virus, but is not airborne and must be injected into the blood of the host. And in case of being infected with the purest variation, further and larger mutations will follow. The host will not "die" as in the T-virus case, but dead and not functioning parts of the hosts' body will be reactivated and mutated to what the virus feels to be appropriated. When being mature, the G-Type will reproduce by infecting people with embryos that'll grow inside the body of th host until it hatches.

4. The NE-T Virus
Similar to the T-virus, but the Tyrant shaped creature will remain in a more human form growing external vessels, certain cognitive centers of the brain and muscle control nerves are rebuilt. Further mutation as with skin and more vessels and tentacles requires some kind of catalyst, which in most cases are damage to the body or extreme pain. The NE-T creature is more human that any other creature and is able to do more things considered as human than any other specimen.

5. The T-Veronica Virus
The Veronica virus can be explained as an attachment to the original T-virus, as it only strengthens the virus itself and does not operate fully as a single virus. With this variation/attachment you get all the effects of the T-Virus adding some extra ordinary aspects. This is the only variation of the virus that so far lets the host control itself to a level where human shape can be kept and the body functioning normally. But with all the power a Tyrant or other infected specimens holds. Another incredible aspect of the T-Veronica variation is that the host is able to control or at least communicate to certain creatures when being the host of the virus. And some parts of the hosts body is able to produce a liquid which will react to the air and heat up the to a level where it starts to burn. Control over when to mutate and how is also one of the bigger strengths for this variation. However, the downside of this variation which haven't been dealt with yet is the fact that to receive full control of the body during the virus infection, the host must be placed in coma for a long time, letting the virus slowly awake from the hibernate it's been in.
