SEGA Dreamcast Jet Grind Radio Review
Jet Grind Radio
The story behind Jet Set Radio (Renamed Jet Grind Radio in the U.S.) is a simple however indepth one. The government is attempting to silence the kids of Tokyo, Japan. In an effort to ride out their "Freedom of speech", the children (mainly teens) equip their Magnetic Futuristic Skating Shoes. The police immediately react, but they have to catch them first. The Jet Grind Radio program (Hosted by a DJ who is off the hook) keeps the kids unified and focused on fighting for their rights. How do these kids do this? By using the well-known style of graffiti art. Sega is challenging you to grab your spray cans and design your own masterpiece art on one of the walls in the 3D, interactive city. In Jet Grind, you will be forced to protect your territory from rival gangs that want to take control of your neighborhood, join up with hip individuals who you need to help you keep your area the way you want it, and much more, all while avoiding the cops who will be after you like there is no tommorrow, so you'll have to be quick. The 10 main characters are made of a cartoon-style design. Uniqueness is key to these characters and each character stands apart with exclusive abilities and style. No two characters perform exactly alike. Jet Grind Radio provides for unlimited replay value. It allows you to create your own logo by combining colors, letters, and special effects to give the game your own personal feel, and the rumoured feature of being able to download and/or upload custom tags proves that SEGA isn't about to slow down in the creativity department. So will Jet Grind Radio have what it takes to impress the crowd? I think so.
