SEGA Dreamcast NFL2K1' Review
NFL 2k1
"This year the whole country is inbound." Sega couldn't have marketed it better. If for a second you are thinking that this is last year's game with online play you are wrong. Nearly every thing that you loved about last year's football fantasy has been improved, everything you hated, has been fixed. Remember that terrible - run only to get tackled - running game? Well how would you like an auto-hurdle over downed opponents to keep you moving, or a sweat juke move that makes Cyber-Barry look as stiff as dry cotton swabs. Oh yeah, and with the added franchise mode, you will find yourself playing at least until 2k2 comes out. Throw in the highly anticipated network play, and downloadable roster updates, and Sega has what just about no other system does, a perfect game.
Graphics: 9.5 (New animation, player models = crisp visuals, need I say more?)
Sounds: 9.5 (The 2k series still proves to have the most accurate and fluent voice-over commentary in a football game)
Game play: 10.0 (Jump right in and play, the controls are safe.)
Overall: 10.0 (Can't wait to see NFL 2k2)
