Jessica Marie Alba was born on April 28, 1981 in Pomona, California. Jessica decided that she wanted to become an actress at the age of five and she took her first acting class when she was 12 years old. After much practice and hard work, Jessica was eventually signed by an agency. Jessica made her movie debut in 1993 with a main role in Camp Nowhere. After being in her first movie, Jessica made an appearance in two commercials for Nintendo and one commercial for J.C. Penny. In 1994, Jessica expanded her horizons by landing a star role in "The Secret World of Alex Mac." Also in 1994, she played the role of Maya in "Flipper." Jessica, being a PADI-certified diver, remained on the set of Flipper from 1995 - 1997. In 1996, Jessica appeared in Venus Rising as Young Eve, and she was in an episode of "Chicago Hope", playing the role of Maria. In 1997, Jessica appeared on the "Dini Petty Show", to talk about her role in Flipper and her overall acting career. In 1998, Jessica appeared in several TV shows for an episode or two. In early 1998, she appeared in "Brooklyn South", as Melissa. A few months later, she received "TV time" in two episodes of "Beverly Hills 90210", as Leanne. And she also appeared in an episode of "Love Boat: The Next Wave." In 1999, Jessica Alba was put out there. After appearing in numerous magazines, she had a small role in the movie Never Been Kissed, and an even larger role in Idle hands. Shortly after those two movies debuted, Jessica received word that she had gotten the starring role in Paranoia. Jessica then went on to audition for the leading role of the FOX 5 series "Dark Angel." James Cameron liked what he saw and she got the part.
