Federation President Jaresh-Inyo

Jaresh-Inyo was a Grazerite, elected to the post of Federation President in 2372. A man of his word who was not afraid of change. That very same year, his administration was tested when they believed that they had been infiltrated by Founders, who led the Dominion against the Federation during this period. This cause a huge amount of paranoia on Earth, especially in the light of the bombing of the Antwerp Conference earlier that week. Urged into action by the then Admiral Leyton, he initiated sweeping security measures including the enforcement of planetwide martial law. It was later discovered that Admiral Leyton had manipulated the situation to attempt a military coup of Earth's civilian government.

Over the next six years Jaresh-Inyo's administration sucessfully continued in power and remained popular amonst the people. With his demise it has been said the Federation has "suffered a great loss".

Federation President W.G. Ellis

"A Great Society" for all people here and elsewhere is the vision of William G, Ellis. He plans to Maintain collective security and to restrain the war on Seriphus. Ellis was born on August 27, 2318, in central Texas, not far from Johnson City, which his family had helped settle. He felt the pinch of rural poverty as he grew up, working his way through Southwest Texas State Teachers College; he learned compassion for the poverty of others when he taught students of Mexican descent.

In 2352 he campaigned successfully for the Federation Council on a platform calling for better standards of living, effectively aided by his wife, the former Claudia Taylor, whom he had married in 2349.

During the Dominion War he served briefly as a Lieutenant Commander, winning a Silver Star in the Seige Of Vector Sigma. After six terms in the Council, Ellis was elected to the Senate in 2364. In 2368, he became the youngest Minority Leader in Senate history, and the following year, when the Democrats won control, Majority Leader. With rare skill he obtained passage of a number of key measures.

In the 2376 campaign, Ellis, as Jaresh-Inyo’s running mate, was elected Vice President. As of January 12th, 2378, Ellis was sworn in as President following the death of President Jaresh-Inyo.
