Among the Shadows
-Chapter 1-
Ryall stood beside what used to be his starfighter. Since he wasn't a Jedi anymore, he couldn't use it. He remembered all of the trips and missions that he flew in it. His thoughts then turned to Lila. He missed her more than anything. He wished that she was still alive. He heard footsteps coming from behind him. He turned around with his lightsaber ignited. It's orange blade pointed at the person's chest.
"Whoa. It's only me Ryall."
"Master Kenobi. I'm sorry."
"It's okay. How as you feeling?"
"I want to know why Lila had to die. I want to know!"
"If you pursue this, there's a great chance that you could end up like Lila, dead."
"Do not tell me how to live! I've lived by the Jedi ways far too long. Lila sacrificed herself. She didn't have to do that mission. She could have declined it."
"It was her job. She was a Special Agent. It was her duty to take the missions that were laid out to her. I was told that she had never declined a mission prior to that one. Why do you think that she should have declined it?"
"She would still be alive today."
"You don't know that. She was going to go with Qui-Gon and I to Naboo."
"There is going to come a day when the Jedi cease to exist. And it's coming soon."
"What do you mean?"
"You will see."
Ryall grabbed the two bags that sat on the hanger floor beside him. He walked out of the hanger and flagged a skytaxi. One stopped in front of him.
"Where to?"
"Chancellor Palpatine's office."
They flew off and headed towards the building that house the offices of the Senators and Chancellor Palpatine. He remember the election like it was yesterday. The Queen of Naboo moved for a Vote of No Confidence in the then Chancellor Valorum. Senator Palpatine of Naboo had been nominated to secede Valorum. He won the vote. Some thought that it was rigged for Palpatine to win, but others just keep their mouths shut.
They stopped outside the office building. Ryall paid the driver and the driver sped off. Ryall walked with his bags in had towards the building. The doors opened and he walked in. The doors closed behind him with a whoosh. There were Senators walking about the building. He saw a turbolift just ahead of him. He walked towards it and got on. The lift went up the floor of the Chancellor. The lift stopped and he walked off. He walked slowly towards the doors of the Chancellor's office. Since the doors weren't made of glass he tried to listen to what was going on in his office. He heard a dark voice coming from the room. For some reason the voice sounded familiar. He continued listening. He heard an acknowledgment from another male whose voice also sounded familiar.
Ryall backed away from the door just in time before the door opened. He froze at the sight. It was the same robed man that Lila spoke of. He couldn't move. He just stood there looking at the man. The robed man didn't see Ryall, but he could sense that he was there somewhere. Ryall could feel the man's evil energy. It was so powerful. He was full of hate and anger. In a quick second blue lightning flew towards Ryall. Ryall looked at the lightning coming towards him.
