This is the first of what I hope to be more pages to be added in the future.
William Blossom-grandfather of Gladys(Blossom)White. Enlisted in Company G, 75th Ohio Infantry Union Army on October 31st, 1861. From Somerville, Butler County, Ohio. He was five feet ten inches tall with black eyes and hair. He participated in every major battle in the east except Antietam-through July 1863. He was wounded in the chest at Chancellorville and from April 30 to August 31, 1862 was at Findlay Hospital, Washington, DC. His wife died in May that same year. On Cemetery Ridge at Gettysburg, he was taken prisoner. He was held for thirty days and then paroled back to the Union Army.
