For the Post-Ds9 novels, which have just completed "Season 8" Ro was finally brought to the station, filling Odo's old security post. Ensign Ro had actually been planned to have what eventually became the role of Major Kira for the series, but Michells Forbes didn't want to make the commitment. However, that wasn't much of a problem for a book series. One thing I could never figure out is why Ro wore a grey uniform and not a gold one. Every other Bajoran Security Officer on DS9 wore gold, but she's got on an Engineering outfit. Worked out well for me though - I don't have the right colors to make her the other way.
