Jal used to be Red 5, but then he got sick with the measels (yeah I guess they have that in the Star Wars Universe) and so Luke flew in hsi place. Jal, because he is dumb, believes that he would have been the one to blow up the Death Star if it was him. Problem one - we all know he wouldn't have, since Luke has the Force. Problem two - somehow I think they would have put Luke in an X-Wing regardless, he just happened to have been in Jal's. These are reasons why not too many people like this comic (there are other reasons too, but I kinda liked the series.) As usual he's a Biggs with no mustache with helmet decorated to match the comic.
