I highly doubt that this was a nod to the EU, but there is in fact a single Jedi in the arena who wore a dark green tunic. He's a nameless extra, and has been given no attention, but I figured why not name him after Corran Horn's grandfather. Of course this Jedi wasn't seen in the survivor's circle at the end of the battle, but the Official Site said that some Jedi were just "severly injured" and not neccesarily killed. Basically it's their out :)
