This isn't much of an eagle-eye custom per se, it's actually not even shown in the film. In a shot taken, but never used, you can see this R2 plus another, that were in the room at the time, just never shown in the final edit. It's a shame too cause they're two of the best ones I've seen. I kinda wonder what happened to all these astromechs from the first movie. Not a single one made a reapearence anywhere else.
