I think the author was thinking Micro Machines when they made this ship up. It was described as a YT-1300 with the front of an A-Wing for mandibles. It's later revealed that there is an A-Wing there for escape. If you look at the Micro Machines (which are totally out scale with each other) the front of an A-Wing does match the size of the Falcon's mandibles. However, in the actual Star Wars universe a concealed A-Wing would be impossible to even see. That's why you see no A-Wing :) I kept the bronze coloring cause I think it looks cool, and the exterior color is never described.
