Dack Ralter

Dack Ralter Dack Ralter's story is a tragic one repeated time and again throughout the Galactic Civil War. He is one of many young, idealistic soldiers whose life was cut short on a battlefield far from his home.

Dack was the child of prisoners in a Kalist VI labor colony. He hadn't known freedom his entire life, but that changed when he was 17. A downed Rebel pilot incarcerated at Kalist befriended young Dack. Together, the two made their escape from the world, though the Rebel did not survive. Once free, Dack joined the Rebel Alliance, training as a pilot and gunner.

The optimistic young man said he felt he could face the Empire himself at the start of the Battle of Hoth. His confidence was not only the product of youth, but also of flying as gunner to Alliance hero Luke Skywalker. A shot square in the aft section of Luke's snowspeeder, however, ended Dack's life instantly.

Throughout the years of spin-off products, the spelling of Dack's name has alternated between "Dack" and "Dak."
