Located on the outskirts of Mos Espa, the slave quarters are hovels stacked on top of one another to save space, maintained by the slave owners just enough to keep them from falling apart. Families are usually allowed to remain together, and a few connecting hovels are sometimes transformed into some sort of family home, with different bedrooms leading to a common living area. Despite their wretched appearance, the slave quarters are sturdy enough to protect the residents from the sandstorms that regularly hit Mos Espa.
On the outskirts of town, the Slave Quarters are beneath the notice of well-to-do citizens and local authorities...making them an ideal hiding or meeting place for low-profile travelers with the right connections.
