1990 I HAD REACHED MY FORTIETH YEAR--YIKES
Look at me I'm 40 and I'm wearing my party hat, hey whats that in my hands..well they're cards must be off to play happy families. My look at those EARS!!

I had reached 40 with many trials and tribulations, but I still had my sanity; well at least think I did.

I was going through a lot of emotions, I felt as if, and I know that I hadn't reached my full potential, I hadn't acheived what I wanted to do, what I wanted to be, I was in my 40's and I still felt like an 18 year old. Does this happen to everyone, or was it me.

Another year ending in one, and another trophy for Tottenham the FA Cup for the eighth time. The best game on the road to Wembley was undoubtably the semi against our North London rivals Arsenal, we slaughtered them 3-1 with Paul Gascoigne scoring a spectacular free kick from way outside of the area. The final against Nottingham Forest was a tense affair with Forest going ahead in the first half, Gary Lineker missing a penalty, it was actually saved, but second half we come from behind with an equalising goal from Paul Stewart. The game went into extra time and a Des Walker own goal sealed it for us. 2-1 victory, but at a price, Paul Gascoigne our hero from all the earlier rounds was carried off after a nasty tackle. But there was celebrations in North London that night.

Two more stars from the 'Super Spurs' left, Gary Lineker forward scored many goals for Tottenham and England and right, Gary Mabbutt a great Spurs captain lifting the FA cup in 1991 suffered from diabetes from a boy, was instrumental in making people accept diabetes awarded the MBE.

My wife Helena who had seen me at my worse, was slipping away from me, our marraige was faltering, whose fault was it, whose fault is any one's breakdown of a marraige it was a combination of both of us. We went our seperate ways towards the end of the 90's after over 25 years of marraige.

The 90's saw the lost of that great character Vincent Price, so great in many films and also the voice on Michael Jackson's superb song "Thriller". My personal favorite film he appeared in was "The Raven", the interplay with Peter Lorre and Boris Karloff was GREAT was also one of Jack Nicholson's early films.

The Raven made in 1963 can still stand the test of time, a very dark comedy!!!

Musically the scene was as fresh as ever, with artists like 2Pac rubbing shoulders 'so to speak, with Mariah Carey.

Tupac Amaru Shakur born June 16 1971 killed in a driveby shooting September 13 1996, one of the finest exponents of 'gangsta' rap

The dub beats of Electronica were setting clubs alight, ambient moods and chilling out music were going down a storm. Fatboy Slim aka Norman Cook is one of this country's leading exponents, but there are many good acts.

Eric Clapton had been bringing out rather stagnant albums during the 80's and was much better to see live, but the 90's brought him his biggest hit ever.

On March 20, 1991, Clapton's four-year-old son was killed in a fall. While he mourned, he released a live album, 24 Nights (October 1991), culled from his annual concert series at the Royal Albert Hall in London, and prepared a movie soundtrack, Rush (January 1992). The soundtrack featured a song written for his son, "Tears in Heaven," that became a massive hit single. He then released his biggest selling album 'MTV Unplugged', that spawned a lot of other artists playing accoustically.
