Chapter 2

Theresa Raimon cursed at herself. This was so dumb.
7:30 in the morning and she was searching for jobs in
Manhattan.

Wish I could have found one in Brooklyn. Who actually
can’t find a job in this City? That was sad. She was
all the way up into Midtown. That was going to be one
long subway trip. Get out the metro card; she was not
going to pay to have her car parked while she was in
this annoying overly populated borough (even though
Brooklyn has more people). Why did her parents make
her get a job? Because she couldn’t go out and go to a
school in Pennsylvania where she lived. Theresa wanted
to move to the city. It wasn’t that far. She lived in
a little town straight west about an hour the other
side of Jersey. So without enough financial aide for
NYU or anything else in Manhattan, she decided to go
to Brooklyn College. Stupid Midtown. Stupid people
everywhere. And its only 7:30!! She was up to 57th
street when she saw a small Eastern Specialty
Restaurant, with a help wanted sign. Why not, she
thought, it seems perfect that I have to take the
train to get all the way up here so I can wash
dishes…….

It was a normal morning for Leo. Only one more hour
until he got to go home. Some dumb pretty boy band
was playing on the radio, and he found himself singing
along despite himself. What a pointless song…blah blah
blah.

Chop, chop, chop…..jeez these onions are
making my eyes water.

“Hello?” The voice sounded like a girl looking for
someone. Leonardo went to run for the cooler for
somewhere to hide in real quick until Chu got out of
the front, but just as he started to move, Theresa
walked into the room and her jaw dropped. Then she
took a deep breath “Uhh….Hi”

At least she didn’t run screaming or anything. Must
of saw us on that stupid talk show.

Leonardo searched for something intelligent to say to
get himself out of this bad situation. He opened up
his mouth hoping something great would come
out. “What’s Up?”

Theresa equally was at a lack of words, so she turned
her attention to the radio, pointed at it and
stated “Ummm…I think the blond one is hot.”

Someday….someday….someday I’ll WHAT??? Raph glanced at
himself in the mirror. Face it, its time to get over
her….four years next Tuesday. It’s sad that I actually
realize that.

Get some breakfast….Do some practice. Well, when Leo
gets back from one of his “morning runs”. I wonder if
he actually thinks I am that gullible. Even Leo’s
morning runs wouldn’t last four hours. I’m going to
find out what the big secret is….

“Really, the blond one, huh?”

I really really really wish that Chu would get in here.

"Umm…your one of those turtles I saw on TV?”

It was more of a question than a statement. “Yeah. My
name is…..Leonardo.”

“Theresa.” Leonardo watched as the girl very carefully
approached him, and stuck out her hand. “I’m uh…I’m
responding to your help wanted sign out there. I guess
you didn’t want anybody in here yet, but the door was
unlocked so I thought…..” Not coming up with a reason,
she looked down.

Great. Some ninja you are. Leave the friggin door
unlocked!!!

“Yeah, that’s ok though. The owner should be back any
sec---“

“Oh hello.” A Chinatown accent caused to her to spin
around to see a bewildered looking man in his early
thirties looking at her in confusion.

Well, I don’t know what else to say…”I’m inquiring
about the help wanted sign you had posted out front…”

 Just another normal day…

“Hey don?”

“Yeah.”

“What’s up with Leo in the mornings. I mean where is
he?”

“Practice run.”

“For FOUR hours??”

“You know Leo.”

“Yeah but even Leo isn’t that crazy.”

“I don’t know, ask him yourself.” Oh that was an
intelligent thing to say!!

“Maybe I will”

“OK. You do that.” Even better.

“Kids today. No wonder they are so messed up.”

“What?” She walked out with a cup of coffee.

“Bleh, how can you drink that…..Kids today….look at
the stuff they watch on television.”

“Probably just the same as you did when you first got
a television.”

“I don’t remember them being like…this.”

“That’s the point; it takes less to entertain a kid.”

“Oh…” He flipped through the channels and found a talk
show. He smiled. “This is what it takes to entertain
an adult. Now THAT’S sad.”

“What do you want to do today?”

“I should go to practice.”

“Yeah, you’ve been a skipper lately, Mike.”

“Yeah, I’m naughty.”

“I’ll come with you!!”

“To practice?”

“Yeah, I’ll show them what you showed me.” She gave a
half attempt at a kick. Mike smirked.

“What??”

“Nothing.”

“No, What?”

“Nothing…Sure come to practice with Me..why not.”
