Seeing the successful use of armored cars by Britain, the US Army began in 1940 to design its own armored car. The Greyhound, a six-wheeled scout car armed with a 37mm L/57, was the product of this. Highly successful in its patrol and reconnaissance duties, over 8,000 were built during the war. |
