OVERVIEW
The TME-144 Walking Fortress Ultra was designed as a counter to Clan BattleMech-mounted infantry. Based on the huge TME-140 Walking Fortress, the TME-144 can carry two twenty-one man platoons of jump infantry or three four-suit battle armor squads within its relatively cavernous hull.
CAPABILITIES
Ingress and egress are permitted through hatches in the front and sides of the torso as well as upper hatches that allow jump-jet equipped infantry to 'blast off' out of the WFU when it is moving at speed. Outsizing even the Atlas, the massive Walking Fortress can support its infantry force with its single large pulse laser and five medium lasers. Although poorly armed and quite slow, the Walking Fortress's unprecedented thirty-nine tons of hardened armor make it practically invincible to enemy firepower.
DEPLOYMENT
The TME-144 is easily modified and end users often replace its cargo space with weapons or shed some of its armor for a larger reactor.
