OVERVIEW
The TME-157 is the resurrection of the late, great MAD-series Marauder built by numerous companies all across the Inner Sphere. After production on the Marauder ceased, TME obtained planforms of the design and modified it into the TME-157 Marauder now enjoying brisk sales. Taking the nearly 500 year-old design into the 3060s required a great deal of thought, ambition, and advanced technology. The standard GM steel chassis was completely rebuilt out of the advanced Endo Steel composite. The Vlar 300 fusion engine was upgraded to a Light model that met Lyran Alliance specifications for such equipment, reducing engine mass by 25 percent while having a greater survivability than extralight engines.
CAPABILITIES
The MAD-3R's original Valiant Lamellor standard armor remained in place but was augmented with an additional three tons of plating, increasing the armor protection by 26 percent and reaching the frame's armor limit. The twin Magna Hellstar particle projector cannon were upgraded to EPPC:3049 "ReachOutAndKillSomeone" extended-range versions. The antiquated GM Whirlwind light autocannon along the spine found itself replaced with a far more lethal MRAC:3060 "Vulcan" rotary autocannon with enough ammunition for 70 seconds of fire on full automatic. Two more medium lasers were placed in the side torsos to augment the medium lasers in the arms, completing the TME-157's armament.
Sixteen double heat sinks can keep the TME-157 cool even if both EPPC:3049s are fired at once, making the TME-157 very capable at long range fighting as well as close-in melee. The weapons, mounted in shock-absorbing housings, can easily resist the abuse of physical combat. The TME-157's only weakness is the crowded confines of its interior, making repairs inconvenient.
DEPLOYMENT
The TME-157, carrying on in the Marauder tradition, is extremely popular thanks to its heavy armor, survivability, and weapons load.
