OVERVIEW
The TME-18 Nebelwerfer is a long-range assault platform created in 3057 (local date). It is well armed, for a helicopter, and is armed with five Thunderbolt-5 missile launchers with enough ammunition to sustain a barrage for thirty seconds.
CAPABILITIES
The TME-18 is all it says in the overview--a long range support helicopter.
DEPLOYMENT
The TME-18 is a common long-range support element for helicopter units across the Inner Sphere, especially House Steiner.
VARIANTS
There are actually two TME-18 structural designs, the TME-18 original widebody and the TME-18/a with a thinner fuselage and no wings. Both operate exactly the same way.
Some have complained about the Thunderbolt-5s, so the TME-18-A mounts three long-range missile ten-racks instead. The TME-18 is the general basis for the TME-37 Wirbelwind.

DESIGNER'S NOTE: The "nebelwerfer" (literally "rocket-thrower" in German) was a unguided rocket artillery unit used by Germany in World War Two. It consisted of six to eight rocket racks mounted at an angle to the sides of a halftrack.
