OVERVIEW

The TME-25 General is the best-armored design in history.  Designed as a command 'Mech for the faint of heart, the General is a slow, plodding, mobile command base that is nearly impervious to enemy fire.  When the General was first green-lighted, TME management requested a 'Mech as ugly as sin yet durable enough to sustain itself.  The General certainly fufills those goals.

CAPABILITIES

The General is an unparalleled command center.   The head cockpit, as usual, contains the MechWarrior responsible for controlling the 'Mech, but deeper in the torso lies the commanding officer with his command console in unparalleled protection.  An enhanced satellite uplink dish in the right torso provides a superior view of the strategic situation and improves the initiative of the entire 'Mech unit.  Two laser anti-missile systems protect the General from missile barrages, and a weapons array consisting of two extended-range large lasers and two medium pulse lasers provides respectable defensive firepower.  A Guardian ECM suite provides additional protection from pesky enemy technology.

The best feature of the General is its durability.   Thirty-eight tons of hardened armor covers this beast's hide, giving it double the armor protection of any other BattleMech in existence.  Unlike most other TME designs, the TME-25 mounts a standard fusion engine rather than an extra-light one, allowing it to survive the loss of its left or right torsos.  The Quad-Mech arrangement provides excellent stability and allows for the loss of legs while maintaining the ability to move.

DEPLOYMENT

The TME-25 is popular with large BattleMech units with non-combat commanders.  Skittish supreme commanders not wishing to test their own poor skills enjoy the cushioned ride inside the armored belly of the General.  A non-command modification is in the works but unexpected to enter production anytime soon.
