OVERVIEW
The TME-21 Tin Can was a reworking of the (cough) renowned (cough) UrbanMech. Never ones to let a problem go unsolved, TME Industries engineers constantly return to the worst 'Mech ever over and over again. The goal? To make it worth something. Is this goal worthwhile in and of itself? We think so. The result? The TME-39 ÜberMech.
CAPABILITIES
The TME-39 ÜberMech fixes all of the problems of the UrbanMech. It is faster, mounts better armor, has better weapons, can strike farther and hit harder. It also masses nearly three times as much. The heavy shotgun autocannon in the right arm, supported by a medium laser in the domed head and two short-range missile four-racks in the torso, allows a close combat deathblow. The long-range missile twenty-rack and extended-range large laser in the left arm can harass enemies from a great distance.
The only aspect the UrbanMech beats the ÜberMech is jumping capability, as the larger 'Mech cannot jump.
DEPLOYMENT AND VARIANTS
The ÜberMech is valued by UrbanMech pilots and technicians, as the controls and design philosophy are nearly identical. One production variant exists, the TME-39-A, that reduces ammunition and adds jumping capability and Cellular Ammunition Storage Equipment.
