OVERVIEW
The TME-61 Nimitz is a destroyer-class WarShip intended to provide fighter defense for a medium-sized fleet. Carrying twenty fighter squadrons, the Nimitz achieves this objective quite well. It is, however, a vulnerable ship due to its lack of capital-class weaponry.
CAPABILITIES
Eighty large pulse lasers and eighty long-range missile twenty-racks defends the Nimitz from enemy fighters but does little against capital ships. Its contingent of 120 aerospace fighters is its most powerful offensive weapon.
DEPLOYMENT
The Nimitz is an unpopular design and considered a failure even by the TME engineers who created it. The TME-19 Vanguard of the Storm heavy fighter carrying DropShip is a more effective combat platform.
