OVERVIEW

The TME-62 Oklahoma battleship, at 52 meters long, is the largest naval vessel currently in existence.  As naval power no longer maintains control of a world and have limited tactical use, the TME-62 is a sea-mobile artillery battery.   Equipped with the latest in stealth technology, it can hide from radar until its guns open fire.  A custom-built DropShip-grade engine propels and powers the Oklahoma.

CAPABILITIES

The Oklahoma's primary armament consists of an unprecedented twelve "Long Tom" heavy artillery guns in four turrets.  These guns can unleash a withering barrage of shells up to eighteen kilometers away.  Fore and aft gunnery control stations give these guns surprising accuracy, calculating fire angles and triangulating the locations of targets, as well as allow them to attack seperate targets.   These guns also act as the Oklahoma's anti-ship weapons, quickly demolishing enemy naval threats.  Shorter-range artillery support is achieved through the Oklahoma's twelve Arrow-IV artillery missile systems, which pack a punch equal to the larger guns but have a limited range of only four and a half kilometers.  Six shotgun autocannon in two sponson defend the Oklahoma from aircraft.

The ship's crew of forty live in relative luxury aboard the Oklahoma.  Spacious one-man quarters lie nearby each crewman's duty station and two recreation facilities keep the crew occupied.  Motorized lifeboat-capsules ensure the crew's safety in the event of the Oklahoma's destruction.  More than sixty tons of armor allows the Oklahoma to take some punishment.

DEPLOYMENT

TME-62 squadrons serve in the navies of several water-rich worlds.

VARIANTS

The Oklahoma's simple design makes it easy to modify.   Modifications with more anti-aircraft guns, different weapons, and even strategic command abilities are very common.
