OVERVIEW

The TME-91 Samson is the heavy chassis of TME Industries' line of Bipedal All Terrain Armored Vehicles.  Massing 50% more than the TME-90 Nimrod, the Samson carries heavier armor and better weaponry at the cost of maneuverability.   While the internal combustion engine-powered Samson is still less effective than fusion-powered BattleMechs of similar tonnage, it can successfully engage, with a good chance of victory, lighter units as well as armor and infantry.

CAPABILITIES

The Samson chassis can carry 31.5 tons of weaponry and equipment.   The primary configuration mounts a heavy autocannon, a long-range missile five-rack, and a short-range missile two-rack.  The fire support variant carries twin long-range missile fifteen-racks and a single short-range missile two-rack.  The assault variant carries three short-range missile six-racks, a long-range missile five-rack, and a machine gun.  The multirole version of the Samson carries a 10-class autocannon with a long-range missile ten rack and a short-range missile four-rack.  The energy weapon version carries a large laser and four medium lasers.

DEPLOYMENT

The TME-91 Samson is popular as a support vehicle for BATAV units.

DESIGNER'S NOTE:    The Samson is based partly on a HERCULEAN (HERC) walker from the Earthsiege 2 computer game--the Samson, I think.
