TME designers noted the lack of firepower of most conventional DropShip weaponry. Unable to mount massive naval autocannon or missiles, TME looked to artillery. Ballistic artillery shells could provide excellent striking power and range, but the recoil was prohibitive for use in a spacecraft. The Arrow-IV was suggested as a possible strike weapon.
TME Industries appropriated several Arrow-IV missiles and launchers and, after time and slight modification, transformed them into the Deathstroke ship-to-ship missile. However, because they are simply modified Arrow-IVs, they are usually referred to as spaceborne Arrow-IVs.
Spaceborne Arrow-IVs mass just as much as their standard counterparts and have the exact same stats. They are simply allowed to be mounted on spacecraft is all. Because of their large size and relatively poor handling, they may not attack fighters.
The special effect of spaceborne Arrow-IVs are that they cause maximum damage to the hit facing and then cause splash damage to the adjacent facings. A DropShip hit in the nose takes 20 points to the nose and 10 points to the left and right sides.
An optional rule is allow Arrow-IV attacks against fighter squadrons, where the missile explodes in the center of the formation and all fighters take ten points of damage in five-point blocks.
