Lynx Light Scout OmniMech

By Jeffery Baker

lynx.gif (2273 bytes)A scout OmniMech developed by NAIS in 3060, the Lynx was meant to replace the Commando as the Federated Commonwealth's main light 'Mech.  Designed to run rather than fight, it has exceptional speed and a jump capacity that surpasses most 'Mechs of the same tonnage.   Its main armament is the twin medium Pulse Lasers in its left arm.  The Streak SRM-2 launcher in the left torso only adds to the power of the lasers. A Beagle active probe, coupled with a powerful “SuperMag” spotlight means it can spot and identify enemy 'Mechs with ease.  An Angle ECM unit keeps the Mech safe when it runs for home base.  A TAG equipped version is available, but it loses the Streak SRM launcher to make room.

All graphics and information are thanks to (and are the intellectual property of) Jeffery Baker.  The tables and stat translation into Drawing Board format are my work.  Because the Lynx was designed in MechEngineer (which takes off a 1/2 ton when an arm actuator is removed on an OmniMech), I had to reduce the Streak SRM to a standard model to make it legal when converting it to Drawing Board format.
