Predator II (Zeus), Second Company

    The Zelophehad Electrical Unity System (Zelophehad = Hebrew for "shadow of fear")-carrying variant of the Predator, codenamed "Zeus," is a powerful weapon against closely-grouped unarmored enemies or striking a single target with a force of extreme magnitude.  Invented during a collaboration between Techmarine Argentum and Terminator Sergeant Timothius (Squad X, First Company), the concept behind the ZEUS is extremely simple--using modified heavy plasma gun power generators, an electric arc of extreme power is generated between two electrodes of opposing charge.  This arc is then channeled and distorted using powerful electromagnetic "distorters" and turned into a long, closed loop.  This loop is then used as a weapon--whenever something crosses the loop, it feels the full force of the ZEUS and is usually annihilated.  The power generators only have to make up for the energy lost in re-creating the electrical arc.

    This "Zeus Cannon" has two fire modes--String and Yarn.   The "String" fire mode is the basic anti-armor mode consisting of a single electric arc with an extreme amount of power within it.  "Yarn" mode consists of numerous, less-powerful arcs bundled together, allowing the Zeus Cannon to attack multiple lighter targets.

    The Zeus Cannon, being a radically new weapons system (which the Imperium hasn't had for years), does have a few bugs in it and sometimes fails.  It is also maintenance intensive, so sometimes the Zeus Cannon is swapped out for twin heavy plasma guns.  In either case, the chassis has been equipped with reliable heavy bolters in sponson as secondary weapons.

Zeus Cannon Weapon

     In String Mode, if target is killed/destroyed outright (i.e. in one hit), it is vaporized and explodes--Blast Radius = (1/2)[Target Strength], Strength = [Target Strength], Sv Mod = (1/2)[Target Strength] <round up>, Damage =   (1/4)[Target Strength] <round up>.
     Every time ZC fires, roll the Scatter Distance die.  On Misfire result, roll 1D6:  1-2 = no fire for D3 turns, 3 = short range only, 4 = short range Yarn only, 5 = weapon disabled, 6 = weapon destroyed (with fired mode effect on carrying vehicle).
