Gene Roddenberry created Star Trek in the early 1960s and although his first attempt failed a 2nd pilot was filmed and the series went on the air with the 2nd Captain of the Enterprise Seen with Roddenberry at right.
There are many faces to our main character; the "USS Enterprise", Starfleet designation "NCC-1701".
