ENTERPRISE

Well, here she is, the (new,old?) Enterprise. Let's just say the latest one in our particular time line. This was T.V.Guides' exclusive first look at the ship.

"Enterprise" features a much smaller ship than we're used to which means cramped quarters and a numerically reduced crew. She has a top speed of warp 5 and all the inner charm of a submarine. Take a look at engineering through the link at bottom.

Set in the 22nd century, the new series shows the feeble beginnings of our venture into interstellar exploration. We see the invention and development of all those hi-tech tools and gadgets we've grown familiar with in the last 35 years of Star Trek.

We'll meet aliens we know and be introduced to some that do not appear in later series.

The Enterprise' Captain, Jonathan Archer, is portrayed by Scott Bakula of Quantum Leap fame. He's a looser more laid-back character than the spit and polish officers of the 24th century; not afraid to be caught out of uniform nor to indulge in a little romance between the stars.

All in all, a pretty exciting adventure.
