Rules For Raiding
At
Yellow Knives

Below Are The Rules For Raiding At The Yellow Knives.Rooms not wishing to abide by these Rules are NOT welcome to Raid nor shall they be Raided by Yellow Knives.
bottom line
The Yellow Knives Do NOT Accept Raids From Rooms Where No Such Previous Agreement Has Been Made To Do So, Nor Will They Raid Other Rooms Without First Having Their Agreement To Accept Being Raided.
This Does NOT Mean That Every Raid Will Be Forewarned On Either Side In Advance, But That As A Matter Of Common Courtesy Shown On Both Parts That Raiding Will Be A Mutually Agreed Upon Thing.
None of these rules are designed to be too complicated or put off any wishing to raid Us.....
However, a complicated endeavor such as a Raid has a much better chance of a happier outcome fer all concerned and less animosity between involved parties when the rules are known and followed so that All may enjoy the experience.

1) Entering To Raid: Those entering as Raiders to Yellow Knives will wear a tag after their name designating them as such.If not wearing a tag of being Raider when attacking Yellow Knives you are just going to be ignored or booted. The exception to this is the Leader/Ubar of the room raiding since usually they are well-known.
On entering Your post MUST make it clear that You are here to raid and not merely visit.
It is fundamentally dishonorable to use the current default on enter post of Yellow Knives of entering in peace and then proceed to attack and while mistakes happen in entering when the blood is high and you are revved up to raid be prepared to have to leave and re-enter with the appropriate posting if caught doing such.
2) Non-Combatants: Free Women of the Yellow Knives homestone do not either defend or raid.
Pay attention to posts of who draws weapons and who does not for if a Free Woman does not draw a weapon and is attacked here during a raid the blow struck will not be honored nor will the person deliberately making such a blow be a happy camper once the War Chief gets His hands on them.
Since the names of many of the Free Women of Yellow Knives are ethnic in nature and may not appear feminine to those not familar with the membership of Yellow Knives it would be wise for those wishing to raid YK to do a lil scouting beforehand. A Clue as to the feminine name in Yellow Knives is the suffix Win added to the name. This suffix means simply "Woman" and while not always used in a Free Woman of Yellow Knives name, if there it means without a doubt that this is a Female and therefore a non-combatant.
3) Missle Weapons: The dance of steel is what is desired, not the ultimate human pincushion. Keep Missle weapons to a minimum. At the start of raids, at the end of raids is the most appropriate time for such
Arrows, bolts, quivas, daggers, rocks, tree trunks, etc etc, ad nasuem.
Those raiders actually involved in the taking of loot should expect that they will be the prime target of any such missile weapons at the end of a raid.
3) Prisoners/Captives: As with all other camps, unless prior arrangements made, No prisoners/captives are taken.
Leave the kajira alone... *laughs* And the Free Women too. Don't even threaten them...as far as raiding parties attacking Yellow Knives are concerned they are not even remotely accessible.
(It would pay potential raiders to read the kajira rules pages on the section of what to do during an attack/raid to know how improbable it is that you could even lay one finger on a Female member of Yellow Knives during a raid in any case)
If by chance a raid occurs when a kajira or Free Woman is somehow immobilized ie: chained or caged, it is assumed that they are also safe from harm.
One other thing MUST be made clear here. No Free Woman or slave may arrange their own capture either before or during a raid, in fact NO member of Yellow Knives may do so whatever their gender or status. ALL such arrangements MUST go thru the Chiefs and have their approval. Any such captures or taking of prisoners will not be honored unless they are pre-arranged thusly.
4) Weapons Acknowledging: The first raiding post should be a description of what is carried. IE weapons, etc.... so that the defenders have some clue as to what to expect...
The element of surprise is on the side of the Attackers... But Home Ground advantage is always the defenders who will always have access to not only what they normally carry in the way of weapons on their person, but what they may reasonably be expected to find around the Homestone. *LOL* Remember always Yellow Knives is a Raiding Camp and therefore well-prepared in the way of strategically placed weapons and the Warriors here always as the Earthen saying goes...."armed fer bear"....
however only "honorable" weapons useage is to either be done or recognised by either parties..... poisoned blades or arrow tips, etc.....*low growls*...if posted being used or striking are NOT to be honored either in defense or attack.....they dont' exist.......period.
5) Postings: Alternating posts are best. However, in battle things are rarely ideal. When a person either defending or raiding is attacked by more than one person at a time it is hardly feasible to expect them to continue with a spar-like alternating posting against only one person simply because you "want" them to. They handle the situation as best and as realistically as possible....Also People will jump in front of an arrow on accident *tis why you rarely use missle weapons*, others will screw up an attack by stepping in front of you. Realistically respond to these....It is also not realistic nor feasible to expect someone to continue to fight you if they have posted a move which takes them past you and onwards to another opponent and you are not showing how you either defended "successfully" against such a blow or how you managed to stop them. Basically if not responding with a feasible/realistic defense or stopping post before the one you are fighting engages the other opponent, move on and dance with another. *LOL* Tis a Raid not a Spar....HONORABLE Raiding tactics allow for a certain flow and flux in the dance.....*grinz*.....they are not static nor insistant that this one or that does this or that with this one or that one during the entire Raid....otherwise why not simply have a sparring tourney without all the confusion of a Raid .......*chuckles*
6) Targets: I know it is tempting to alllll wish to go after the Leader or most well-known Warrior... but let's be realistic..... VERY RARELY will Alll of Us get a shot at the "head guy" of either side.......*chuckles*...it is a good thing to have someone in mind when attacking.... yet never count on being able to engage them or keep them engaged as they may have reactions and motivations and preferences different than slashing your hide this day....*feral grinz*. Another thing to keep in mind that a Raid is NOT an arena for any Personal grudges to be worked out. If having a problem with an opponent outside of the present condition of the Raid itself.....keep it outside of the present raiding situation and arrange for some other way of handling the animosity between you.....an Honor Spar is an easy enough thing to arrange if needing and such feelings should NEVER interfer in the process and fun of a Raid.
7) Blows: The goal is to raid.
Not butcher. Kill/Disable blows are not honored.
Tis not the goal of what is happening. Also do NOT post the effect of a blow for another your attacking, such may either be totally ignored and will certainly NOT be honored as posted but as accepted. For instance: Posting *bringing down Me sword in an overhand blow to the top of yer shoulder cutting deeply into muscle and tendons... disabling that arm leaving it dangling limp and useless* Is NOT acceptable, whereas *bringing down Me sword's sharp blade in a vicious overhand blow to the top of yer shoulder, striking hard before backing up 3 paces* IS Acceptable.8) Goals: Those raiding Yellow Knives MUST have a specific objective in mind in the way of "loot". Whether they actually manage to obtain that objective or not is beside the point. Coming in and attacking without such an objective will be seen as an act of War and treated accordingly. In a Raid it is a rough and tumble situation where both parties have objectives or it should be.... Raided Room to defend and attempt to prevent the taking of goods by Raiding Room and Raiding Room attempting to take what they can with certain members being specifically there not so much to engage their opponents but to grab what they can and make off with it.
9) Scouting: Tis simple...Scouting is an intregal and important part of raiding in order to ascertain that the Raiding party is not attacking in a situation which it would be dishonorable to intrude upon or that the ones being attacked would be totally unprepared to deal with.....ie during an ongoing spar already in progress or right afterwards when those in the spar are being healed.....a special ceremony such as a FCing or a dance of a girl to earn her red silks...or during a birthing situation...things of this nature. Also they are there to make sure that the one's seen in whochat as Warrior status of that homestone are actually there period and not ghosting or a left over name not yet cleared by the server resetting yet. Also in Yellow Knives "Scouts" must be tagged as such and are considered Non-combatants. If wishing to join in the actual raid those used as Scouts MUST leave first BEFORE the raid actually starts, then re-enter with a Raiding tag on...once the Raid starts any "Scouts" in Yellow Knives will be expected to retain the Scout status and not participate actively in the Raid.
10) Onlookers/Observors: Those non-members present in Yellow Knives and not wishing to participate in any Raid that occurs in either defense or attack will be expected to go to config and place an *o* after their name to avoid confusion. If not doing so any FW or kaj MUST follow the Yellow Knives rules for their appropriate behavior in such a situation found on the kajira rules page. Free Men visiting Yellow Knives at the time of the Raid are free to aid in the defense, however they also will abide by the rules set down here if not wishing to use the *o*. If not wishing to defend they are expected to leave as not wearing a Raider tag and their posts will not be acknowledged.
Bear these in Mind:
* This is for fun. If mistakes are made, problems occur, continue with the raid. Do not take offense, do not argue, simply carry on.
* Realism, realism, realism. Be realistic about combat moves, etc. IE: One arrow will NOT kill a tarn. Tarns are big, nasty and evil. And they WILL survive most anything, You cannot cover a hundred yards in two seconds... be realistic when posting movements...
*If wishing to raid Yellow Knives Do Your HomeWork! Read and KNOW these rules and follow the links given below to know what is allowable, where things are, etc......Trust US.......The Yellow Knives will do the same if Raiding YOU.....*feral grinz*
